ABOUT FRED

Fred Brehant is a third generation blacksmith and a skilled woodwright located in Hebron, Connecticut.

In the early 1900's, a family tradition of blacksmithing was started in the rural town of Hebron, CT. Fred Brehant, Sr. emigrated to Hebron from the Isle of Guernsey, England in 1917 and served as the town blacksmith. He taught the craft to his son, Fred Jr. (left), who in turn taught his own son, Freddy (right). Freddy has the American spirit and carries on his family's heritage here in Hebron, using the same tools once used by his grandfather.
